Prices that change during an order
Prices move while you take an order. Crash Hour makes sure the guest pays the price they saw, within limits.
Price locked
Section titled “Price locked”When you tap a drink, the line keeps that price. If the board price changes before you check out, the line shows Price locked · now with the new price. The guest still pays the locked price.
Price updated
Section titled “Price updated”A locked price holds for 2 minutes. If a line sits in the order longer, it switches to the current price and shows Price updated (older than 2 minutes). Tell the guest if the price went up.
At checkout
Section titled “At checkout”At checkout Crash Hour checks once more that the drink really had the locked price within the last 2 minutes. If not, it charges the current price. The receipt then marks the line with * and says Price was no longer valid, current price charged.
Collect the amount on the receipt. It is always the amount that was booked.
During a crash
Section titled “During a crash”A drink in a crash stays at its crash price until the crash ends. Orders tapped during the crash get the crash price. After the crash the price climbs back slowly, so there is no jump.
