Pair a TV
Every TV in your bar shows the board: the drinks, their live prices and the crashes. You connect a TV once. After that it starts showing the board on its own every time its browser opens the page.
Who can do this: owners and managers.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A TV with a web browser (most smart TVs have one), or a TV with a small PC or stick connected to it.
- A phone with a camera. You sign in to Crash Hour on it.
- Internet on the TV and on the phone.
Pair with a phone
Section titled “Pair with a phone”- On the TV, open the browser and go to your Crash Hour address followed by /tv. Ask your provider for the address if you don’t know it.
- The TV shows Pair this screen and a large QR code.
- Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera and open the link.
- Sign in if your phone asks you to.
- Choose the outlet the TV belongs to.
- Give the screen a name you will recognise later, for example TV bar right or Terrace.
- Choose the format:
- Landscape for a TV that hangs the normal way.
- Portrait for a TV mounted upright.
- As the other screens uses the outlet’s board setting.
- Tap Pair screen.
A moment later the TV switches to the board. Your phone shows that the screen is paired. The owners of the outlet get an email for every new screen.
Turn on the sound
Section titled “Turn on the sound”Browsers only play sound after someone has touched the page. A paired TV therefore shows a button Tap once to enable crash sound. Tap or click it once, or select it with the remote and press OK. After that the crash sounds play.
No camera on the phone?
Section titled “No camera on the phone?”You can also give the TV its own link:
- In the back office, open Settings → Screens.
- Under Add a screen by link, enter a name, choose the format and click Add and get link.
- Copy the link and open it in the TV’s browser.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”| What you see | What to do |

| The TV still says Waiting for your phone … | Check that the phone finished pairing and both have internet. Reload the page on the TV to get a new code. |
| The board says Connection lost – showing prices from … | The TV lost its internet. It keeps showing the last prices and catches up on its own when the connection is back. |
